Recommend scope for M1A

What scope do you like for long range shooting with an M1A?

300 yards or more.

Price......2K or under.

Is the scope soley for long range shooting? Or per say self defense LR shooting plinking etc.? If it's long range and your willing to spend anything below 2k, i personally would go with a USO SN-3 1.8-10. Then again you could go and save alot of money and get a nikon/leupold/Vortex etc. Which are also good scopes. I myself am about to buy a vortex, the reviews are outstanding and prices can't be beat. 400$ for a 6.5-20x44mm all 4+ star reviews.

Long range targets and also SHTF, "don't get close to my house" type stuff.

Maybe antelope off of a bipod.

The new CQBSS 1.1-8X24 that Leupold will release soon looks ideal.

The Leupold CQBSS are supposedly going for over $4,000 so far and seem to be few and very far between.
