Safe Revolver Stand

The safe is getting crowded so I needed to make more use of space and came up with this revolver rack I made.

It’s set up so it will hold almost any size revolver with almost no side to side movement.. It’s made from brazilian cherry with wipe on Watco cherry finish.

I made it wide enough to fit across the shelf in the safe. It’s designed so that the frame in front of the trigger guard fits in the notches and the cylinder rests on top providing a stable position to hold the revolver.

Any ideas or comments for improvement would be appreciated.

Thanks for looking, 4D5…

Not too shabby.

I just wish my shelf was big enough to hold a rack, and the grip frame. The stupid shelf runs the full width of the safe, but is only 5" deep.

Those look like some well-cleaned revolvers!

I don't see no need for improvement. Looks good functions as intended what else do you want?

Might add some felt runner so as not to scratch the gun or the rack.

Nice idea.

As for improvements, and assuming the trigger gaurds rest on the notches of the stand ...

I'd maybe think about drilling a hole from the side and run a bar (or a dowell) through all of the notches and adding a lock on the end.
Not only would this allow you to lock all 7 handguns with one lock, but if it were a wee bit taller, it could also allow you to mount the stand on a wall, or inside the door of your safe.

Just a thought.

One thing

Very nice idea and workmanship. But it is completely full. No room for future acquisitions. I can help. Send me two of the handguns. Your choice, I am not picky. Just glad to be able to help.
On a serious note how does a pistol fit in this design?
