45-70 Encore handgun

I just got a can of Trailboss and was loading with 300 gr led lfp Meister bullets in my 458 Win Mag. Now I would like to try reloading these same bullets in my Thompson Encore handgun chamberd in 45-70. I don't remember the specific load data for it I would have to look but I think it is 16 gr of Trailboss with 300 gr bullet at 2.465 OAL. I can't close the action with the bullets seated at that height. I have to seat them at a minimum of 4.40 before it would close and certainly would like to back off 10 thousandths, as I am right at the rifling

1) Does this problem with the tc encore sound familiar to anyone who owns one in 45\70?

2) Does seating the bullet that much further down to close the action sound like a problem to anyone?

thanks waltherp88

The specifics are

T/C Encore pistol 12 inch barrel 14 gr trailboss using a 300 gr LFP Meister bullet will not close on the OAL of 2.465 as stated in the load data from IMR. I had to seat the bullet down to 2.400 to be right at the rifling took 10 thousandths off so now I am at 2.390. Does anyone see a problem with this, does this sound safe? Just thought I would ask first. I am going to the range tomorrow and any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Walther P88
