Point shooting laser Practice

Does anyone out there know if someome makes a low cost laser pistol ( no laser till the trigger is pulled ) for point shooting practice. I think this would help save on ammo at the range, and could be done at home. But do they make them and would it realy work for practice?

There was also a product advertised in the gear locker section of SWAT magazine in the past 3 years that is exactly what you want, it is a laser diode that inserts into the chamber like a snap cap and turns on for a second with every firing pin/striker hit.

Very good on a DA pistol, less SA or Safe action as you have to recock the firearm each time.

Or you could make one like I did. Just get a spring airsoft and a laser with a pressure pad. Empoxy the laser to the barrel after taking the innards out. Snake the pressure pad under the trigger (you might need a bit of dreammeling to do that) and re-assemble. Then get the base bad and glue some lead slugs or such to give weight. Empoxy that to the mag well and you have super good hip shooting laser gun.

Mine is used almost nightly. Many nights, after my wife has gone to bed, I get out the holster and laser glock and do lots of hip shooting at lamps, light switches, vases, door knobs. In the garage 'Bob' the punching bag stands with t-shirt. Turn the lights low and he becomes a very good 'bad guy'.

The laser glock is the same size as my carry Glockk 27 so the skill transfers very very well. Once set up it's mucho cheep practice.

I've had a Beamhit 110 system for years, it's a great training device for close range shooting. With the 110 system, you can buy different size rods for various bore sizes using the one laser unit. The down side is that the large laser unit can't be holstered. The internal laser system would be nice to practice drawing and shooting but it looks like you need a separate laser for each caliber (much more expensive)

The LTX-Z internal laser system offered by Beamhit (www.firstshotcounts.com) looks an awful lot like the much cheaper Laserblaster-Z (www.laserdevices.com)

Of course, with any striker fired gun, you have to rack the slide after every pull of the trigger for the laser to work.

Well, after all of your help here, it sounds like the 115 beamhit system from firstshotcounts is what I was looking for and much more. I ordered one for $555.00. It should pay for itself in short order with the cost of ammo now days. Again, thanks to all of you that helped me find it.

I'm a CHL/CCW firearms instructor and NRA Training Counselor. I use a Beamhit 190-3 PMTS simulator in all my classes.

I can't speak highly enough about them. I opted for the 190 over the 115 because the 115 doesn't have the ability to save shooters, configurations or targets that I know of and it doesn't have the ability to print targets.

The downside to the 190 is the need for a computer. That's not a problem for me, but for others it may be. Either way, you're going to be happy with it.

UPDATE, I went ahead and got the beamhit 115 laser system from firstshotcounts and I am vary happy with it! What I wanted was some way to work on point shooting without the use of live ammo. It is also good for trigger work. The $550.00 price is not all that much when you add up all the ammo you are saving. You are right about not saving the hits on this system, but you do know where you shooting with the target that comes with it, and easy to see (laser) point shooting at most anything up to 50 feet or more. The best part is,==== you can do it at home or anywhere without a PC or plug-in, inside or out. The 115 system will work with your 357 - 38 - 9 mm - 10 mm-40 - 44 - and 45 cal.
