Need advice regarding gun safe placement

I am in need of some assistance in finding the better choice of these 'gun safes' (RSCs), and to get some advice on my required placement. My space for placing the RSC is only 23in wide. It's going to be placed inside a small closet, bolted to the slab. The closet door will be a solid core wood door, deadbolt, with stud hinges. The wall that would be against the back of the RSC is shared with an equal sized, adjacent closet in another room. To better protect the back of the safe, I was thinking of screwing a thick, fitted hardwood board to the wall stud(s) so that it may be between the back of the RSC and the shared closet wall. Also, would dead-bolting the hinged side of the closet door be beneficial at all? Any advice/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

safe safes

I don't know the where-abouts of your location and to what degree of crime your area has but, I have three of the Liberty safes. All are bolted together so that they are as on unit 5' wide and bolted into the concrete floor. The idea is to make it hard to remove the safe in whole as well as removing contents. Secure it as much as you are comfortable with. And check Lowe's price on the safes. I got mine for less than $300 each.

I think dead bolting the closet door is an invitation to damage of the door. If bad guys see a locked door inside the house they will want to find out what is behind it and tear it apart. Are you trying to protect the safe? Doesn't sound logical to me.

I'm a fan of liberty safes myself, just spend as much as you can on one because you get what you pay for. one of mine i put in a closet, first i lined the closet with 3/4" plywood screwed to the studs cause it also joins another room then bolted down the safe, framed out the top and front of the safe, then trimmed out the front with 1x material so when the closet door is open all you see is the safe door. just try to make it as hard as possible for the bad guy to get to.hope the info helps.
