Dillon 550b came with essential parts missing!

I just bought a brand new Dillon 550b press from a gun shop in Edmonton. I opened the factory sealed box and started putting it together but I couldn't because I was missing the cartriage collector bin, shellplate bolt, brass tipped screw, and the index star! pretty important items.... I was just wondering, is my luck as bad as I've always thought it was or has this happened to other people too? Post your similar experiences. (if anyone has any that is )

I can only speak for myself but I've certainly never experienced anything like this from Dillon. Regardless, you can bet a simple phone call will have the missing parts enroute, ASAP.

I have used Dillon reloaders for over 25 years and have found the good folks at Dillon are absolutely "top notch" and will replace anything broken, worn out or "lost" so give them a call 1-800-223-4570.
I have been amazed at the service "after the sale" the folks at Dillon provide!

If everything I owned was backed by the same type of warranty and service that Dillon and RCBS provide, life would be sooooo good that I almost would have to buy someone else's brand to have to have something to complain about.

As stated give Dillon a call, they have great service. I bought an older used Square Deal B (off a member here actually) that was missing some parts and had some others that were broken. I called Dillon and they sent me all the parts I needed to get it running like new again. I couldn't have been happier with them.

Call them. They will take care of you.

I just broke a part on a ten year old press Monday, and after an extremely helpful conversation with them they had replacement parts out to me in two days.

Best customer service I've had in a month of Sundays. Their no "BS" warranty is exactly that.

+1 on Dillon's customer service. Just remember that EVERYONE is susceptable to human error, and even the best of the best sometimes make mistakes. They will get it right.

Had a minor problem with a caliber conversion kit I purchased for 9mm. It had two of the correct pins in the kit, the third pin was for 38/357 if I remember correctly. They sent a full set of replacement pins, N/C.

As stated earlier, if every company had customer service like Dillon's, this would be a much different world that we live in. I just hope that their customers don't ruin their policy with a bunch of BS crap, like what happened to Sear's old policy of "Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back" that one could live by and which used to be prominently displayed in every store. Days gone bye........

Dillon has great customer service without a doubt. But in this case I would go back to the shop and exchange it for another that has all the parts. Let them deal with Dillon.

Why don't you just return it to the gun shop you bought it from and exchange it for a new one? If that isn't possible, I agree with the other posts, Dillon's customer service is top notch.

I don't think the Dillon 550 comes with those parts. You have to buy the caliber conversions everyone is different for each caliber. Now the collector bin mine years ago came with it???????

No, those parts should have come with the press. A caliber conversion kit will have 3 locating pins, a shell plate, and a powder funnel.
