best after market trigger for winchester m70

what is the best aftermarket trigger for the winchester m70 ?

im going to see if i can adjust my stealth trigger to a nice pull once i pick the rifle up. but if i can get it to a good safe pull what after market trigger would you lads pick for this rife please

It's hard to go wrong with Timney, and I've heard Jard is no slouch either.

Who do shop with for accessories and such over there?

branch over here. there is a guy called norman clark his shop is pretty good he is a good rifle builder to. most of the local gunshops can get you what you want but have to order it in. the biggest shop we have is sportsman gun centre in devon. they have a big amount of stock and there prices are ver hard to beat. but there customer sevice isnt the best sometimes. http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/

here is good to but they would seam dear to you lot in the usa and canada as your shops are bigger so can offer better prices. and over here the tax is a rip off

Jewel is undoubtedly the best but also the most expensive. You don't need that much trigger on a hunting rifle. BTW never lube a Jewel trigger, it'll gum it up. I've got Jewel, Timney and Bold. The Bold is just as good as a Timney but cheaper.

I have a featherweight 7x57 - a push feed model. After purchase I had the factory trigger adjusted by a gunsmith to 3lbs, matching other bolt actions owned by me.

It works fine.

You may not need to replace the trigger if a gunsmith adjusts it.

10-96 can you by bullets in the post there ? over here we can have match ammo in the post but not expanding ammo or bt ammo. and even air rifles can not be got from a shop on the net anymore so have to go in to the shop to pick it up or get it sent to your gunshop

abit like silencers and other pressure bearing parts

its silly but thats the law i guess. what gets to most shooters here is the law is made by muppets that dont no anything about rifles yet like to stick there nose in on everything.

im thinking about bringing some scopes back next time i go to canada

get some good bargains there and the usa. compared to the prices here

Oh yeah, buying ammunition and components such as powder, primers, brass, and bullets is a non-issue over here. Took me a while to relalize that "Post" to you is the "mail" to us.

When you get to looking for good bargains on scopes- take a look for Mueller brand. They're not top name brands- but I have several and they are certainly well worth the $$.

shame we cant have any semi auto centrefires

we have different tickets for shotguns to a shotgun ticket which is only 3 shot shotguns well 2+1 so
to in and one in the chamber. if you want over that amount you have to have it on your fac ticket. and in shotguns only semi auto again no auto shotguns are permitted here

It's pretty simple to adjust the pull weight and overtravel on a Mod. 70 trigger. You can safely get the factory trigger down to 2.5# or so. You don't need a gunsmith to install an aftermarket trigger on a Mod 70, assuming that you can read and follow simple, illustrated instructions.

if i could get it as nice as my annie 1517 hmr trigger i would be more then happy. it breaks like glass and no creap to

jamie, the real problem, if one could call it a problem, is that you can't adjust the creep (engagement) on a Mod. 70 trigger. Could be that you won't need to make that adjustment. You CAN adjust the creep, however, on the aftermarket Mod 70 triggers.

its worked out fine the guy im getting the rifle off is screwcutting it for me and well its out the stock he said he will polish the trigger up abit and work on it abit. he has done loads and said i should have no need for a aftermarket trigger after he has finished

as i only hunt and not target shoot i guess i dont really need it to light.
