prayers for my family

dear everyone-
my uncle mike died in a deer hunting accident on september 30th. he shot a buck, lost his balance and fell 150 feet off a mountain that he knew like the back of his hand. we all just spent 4 days in southern oregon with my dad's side of the family. i flew from memphis while my immediate family drove up from san francisco. uncle mike was a timber faller for 23 years. he left behind a wife (my aunt) and three kids (young adults). he loved three things. his family, hunting and fishing. i am asking for your prayers for the weaver family in this time of trial. my grandpa took it pretty hard. and if you could lift up the rest of my dad's side of the family too, they mostly live in the area and this situation is pretty shocking and sad. here are a couple of news articles. thank you and god bless.

and i know this sounds morbid to say, but at least he was having a good time. the last thing he did was make a perfect neck shot on a nice forked-horn blacktail. (the savage 99F .308 went down the mountain with him and is damaged severely). i am so glad that he went out with a bang, doing what he loved.

Sorry about the loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Freak things do happen in life and sometimes we don't understand why. Hang in there and stay strong, time will heal.

Very sorry for your loss.

The year after my hunting partner's dad passed, we took some ashes and a plant to the place he had hunted elk forever.

I don't think this is morbid at all. I had a good friend die playing paintball which is something he loved. Sadly we all have to go and at least he got to go doing something he loved. May we all be so lucky.

God Bless you and yours.

Savage Sam,

I know that this is a difficult time for you and your family. My wife's mom died suddenly from a stroke just a few weeks ago.

My prayer for you and you family is that you would feel the peace of God that transcends all understanding guarding your heart and mind In Christ Jesus.

thank you all for the responses and especially the prayers. a little more detail about the situation - i am a christian, as is my immediate family. God is helping us through this time, and we are going to be ok. most of our family in oregon does not know the Lord, and we are praying for them right now that God would use this situation to show Himself strong and to reveal His love to all of the weaver family. thank you again for the support. it's great to know there are so many brothers and sisters on the firingline.

My prayers are with you sam...I lost my dad last year on December 2nd, and The guys & gals from this forum lifted my family up, just as I'll do the same for you. I think going doing something you love is simply amazing. The pain will be there, but the memories you shared will last a lifetime. May God give you and your family peace that can only come through HIM.

You won't find a better group anywhere than this forum...

Our Prayers are with you and your family..........it is a shame that it takes a something like this to remind me/us how important family and life is. May peace be with your uncle.
