Tea, regular and herbal. No booze on hunting trips for me. Too much can go wrong where I go even when you're doing everything right.

Usually, while contemplating life in the flames of a campfire, there's a hot, fresh cuppa joe in my hands, but just before I call it a night and slip into my bag, you'll probably hear the cork pop on a vintage Pinot Noir.

Normally, a fine microbrew of sorts, although we've been doing the Tecate thing a lot lately.

As the night progresses, a single malt scotch, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, or something that's trendy.

We have done some Cazadores as of late. Went through a Jaegermiester phase a few years back, too

All with premium cigar, of course.

If I could afford it and set it up, I'd ship a bottle of Woodford to each person here to enjoy around the campfire. I like the folks in the hunting forum -- you guys are O.K.!

Woodford's Reserve is right up my alley. Old Forester is easier to budget for. I don't complain about Weller's either. GUD STUPH

"Sippin' around the campfire" for me has always been a maximum of TWO beers. Not enough to get drunk, but just enough to stimulate the bladder for that last "nature call" before turning in! Besides, I don't want to be passed out drunk if some two-legged varmints pay a late night visit!

Bank the coals for an early-morning cup of mud, make sure that nothing in the camp is going to "grow legs" or attract the four-legged critters, take a brisk walk around the perimeter, stop off to "bleed the lizard", then shut off the lantern and enjoy the stars and the beauty of silence! Make sure that I have a flashlight AND handgun nearby before shutting the eyelids! Goodnight! Well, maybe one last belch and/or passage of wind!

Ain't life grand?

Usually keep a bottle of Drambui in the cupboard of the hunting camper also......Good served warm after a huge Steak cooked over an open fire....

After the meats hanging and the rifle is put up then I like a good cold Moose Drool, but alomost any beer will work. I don't go past beer very much but Jack or Crown with some Coke to sip on isn't bad either.

"New" camp favorite - obviously after everything is done for the day - Cuervo Black and Coke. I brought it along on a hog hunt on a whim (the advertising must of worked) and really was impressed.
