Can you rebarrel one and if so what is the biggest caliber you can do so. My friend has one in 30-06 and wants to know what he could do with it.

Jfisk, yes I can. The restraints of the cartridge are 52000cup and you must remember that this is a clip fed rifle so you have the cartridge size limitations as well. The .35 Whelen works well in this rifle. If you'll e-mail me with exactly what he'd like done I'll send you a quote. George

I'm impressed.. Read an article about the conversion and the -06 to Whelen was the one done. Had to be rerifled. If George can do it, go for it. The Whelan is a great cartridge.
