Scope recommendations for Mark III
I'd like to mount a scope on my .22 Ruger Mark III. Although I have numerous handguns (but no hunting rifles), I have never mounted a scope on one. Any suggestions as to brand? I believe that it came with a Weaver scope mount. I'd use it mainly for target plinking, and the eyes could use the relief.

Do you want a telescopic sight or a red dot? For a telescopic, I'd go with a burris since you don't have to worry about massive recoil on that pistol (not that they don't hold up well, I know a lot of encore shooters that swear by them) . I have a bushnell holosight on mine that I love to zing squirrels and rabbits with, as well as just punching paper. Either way, you don't need to spend a lot of money to get a good scope for that particular pistol. If you want something that is uber-nice, spend a little more and get a leupold or zeiss, but I bet it won't shoot any better than with a cheaper model.
Happy hunting! Mike |
