Has anyone tried one of these yet? How easy are they to install, do you have to do any drilling or tapping? Other comments?

Steve, I've installed a bunch of them for folks. The barrel has to be turned to a particular diameter depending on which one you are using. Two holes are drilled and tapped in the barrel and the unit is glassed on as well. George

Thanks George, it sounds like gunsmith time. they list one that fits my barrel dia. but I draw the line at drilling on on it. You don't happen to know of another scout mount (other than Burris or B-Square) that would fit a Mauser barrel do you?

Steve, no I don't know of another. However, if you have access to a milling machine you can convert your rear sight for weaver style rings. George
