Kahr KP4543 Compact .45ACP Now Shipping

"Good Morning! Thank you for your email. The P45 has started shipping. However, we do have a large back log that we are working the fill, it will be a couple of weeks before they are circulating steadily. If you have any furthe questions, please feel free to contact us.

Thank You
Kahr Customer Service"

Who will be first to provide us with a review?

I'm in California, so I have to wait for the overlords to give it their blessing.

Anyone have one?

Any reviews?

Kahrs website says that it isn't shipping, but will soon. My Email was from about six weeks ago.

Sounds like they are having problems.

Saw one 2 weeks ago

I saw one 2 weeks ago at a Roseburg. OR gunshow. The dealer was asking $610 for it with conventional sights (vs nite sights). Felt better in my hand than the Glock 36 that he also had on the table. I saw on a web site (think it may have been the Kahr forum on Glock Talk) a post by someone who had picked one up in Florida...he had put a box or so of ammo through it with no problems, he paid $600 out the door for his. I've narrowed my wants down to a Glock 36 or a Kahr P45...pluses for the Glock as I see it are reliability and magazine prices vs the Kahr's better feeling grip (to me anyway) and it's con's of; reported problems (at least on the internet) with the polymer pistol reliability and the high cost of magazines (relatively minor compared to reliability). Jerry

Love Kahr in 9mm, but still have the same old problem with short barrel .45's. Wait and see mode.....

reported Kahr problems "on the internet"

Bob and Gary,

The internet site is Glock Talk, look in the Kahr Club forum, you don't need to register to do a search on Glock Talk. Seems most folks love thier Kahrs (trigger, ergonomics, size of the PM guns, reliability, etc.), but there are several posts regarding reliability problems, mostly with the 'P' or polymer guns. I try to take derogatory posts with a grain of salt because with just about every gun, there are folks that think it is the best, while others claim it's a piece of garbage, but...as I related in the above post, I'm kinda on the fence between the Kahr P45 and the Glock 36 and the reliability concerns me. Hope to hold one of the P45's again and just go for it if it feels that much better to me than the G36. Jerry

edited to add:The reputed problems regard the polymer 9mm and .40's, have seen only the one post regarding the P45, as noted in my above post.

LoafWoodser

Just joking.. I have a K9 that is about six years old and it has never so much as had a hickup (it was wildly inaccurate until sent back to Kahr)...but..it is not a polymer. Thanks for the reference... I've been somewhat concerned about making the gun Kahr thin and light. The short barrel issue is probably no longer a major issue. I suspect that some of the newer bullets have more reliable expansion at slower velocities.

Woodsloafer, remember also that most people whose guns work properly don't usually post on web boards that everything's fine. That said,I also fondled the P45 in Roseburg for $619,Roseburg Gun Shop on Diamond Lake Blvd will order you one for $537.95 plus shipping and background fees.I checked there the same day,$517.95+$20 to order it+(?)shipping+$10 Background.I love my K40,I go out on S.Deer Creek often...Good Luck...
