dummy .50 cal loading components - where to get?

Looking to throw together several (100s maybe) dummy .50 cal shells.

Won't be knocking out primers, don't need the cases to withstand any pressures (theres'll forever be dummy rounds), don't need AP bullets, etc. Bullet tips will be drilled through the nose & through base, so the bullet need be nothing spiffy in the least & certainly no hard-cored.

Cheapest is best.

Any pointers on where to get the stuff?

Well , what I did is I had some Live rounds
And I made them into dummy rounds.

Drilled a hole in the case. Pored out the powder, and hit the primer, Light hit with a flat punch.

Next best thing! Buy one at a "Gun Show" 5 Bucks $ or so?

A bit more work than I care to go into & I'd just as soon not have to pay the added expense of the powder & primer. Too, no holes in the brass is a requirement.

Empty, fired .50 brass - cheap(est).

Next on the list is the bullets.

Uh, do you have a press and dies to seat the bullets? You need an Ammomaster to do that,IIRC. A regular Rockchucker won't quite cut it. If that's all taken care of try: www.hi-techammo.com

No dies, etc.

These'll be dummies. Worse case I can see is having to do a partial neck-size - enough to firmly hold the bullet. Fact, a quick roll over a lube pad with an anerobic adhesive ought to work as well.

I'm a mechanical design engineer & can draft up something fairly easily that'll use even a drill press for seating the bullet to depth - some plastic "nose-piece" ought towork sufficiently. A V-block bolted to the press' base ought to provide alignment - certainly enough for thsi purpose.

Thanks for that link, P-shooter. Any others?

Haven't even started any kind of aggressive search - figured this forum's so good, I could be lazy.

www.gibrass.com
I'd check to see if their prices are lower, but, like you, I have become web lazy from surfing this forum too much

how about gibrass?

www.gibrass.com

'bout $2 a shell, new unprimed military pulldown.

Bullets run $40/C (hundred?)

I haven't dealt with the company, but a friend of mine bought some used powder and didn't have any complaints.

Jerry.

(uh, not 'used' powder but 'surplus' powder. I guess used powder would be smoke)
