Browning Challenger 2 front sight

I recently picked up a nice Browning Chalenger 2 and was wondering if anyone has ever upgraded the front sight in these. Can’t find how it is attached to the barrel, must be soldered on. Anyone got any info to share

The early Challenger IIs had soldered front sights.
Later ones had screw-on bases that located on a hardened pin -- like the Challenger III and Buckmark.

Thanks, mine was made in 1980 and there is no screw or pin so it must be soldered. Do you think a gunsmith could remove it and make it like the later made ones? I shoot at an indoor range and the front sight is difficult to see.

Tru-Glo (among others) makes a paint for front sights that makes 'em really pop. They come in various colors and should enhance your indoor shooting.

Is your front sight a plain blade set directly on the barrel or is it on a ramp?

If a ramp, a gunsmith could cut off the blade and dovetail the base for any sight you want. I have one like that and it worked out very well. It doesn't look factory but it looks as well done as factory.

If a plain blade, it could be removed and a sight dovetailed directly into the barrel or a ramp soldered or screwed on.

It won't be cheap. Try paint first.
