Wow... my 25th Anniversary on TFL

Just realized today is my 25th anniversary on TFL, I joined Jan. 30, 2000 (I actually joined in 1999 under another account name that I abandoned for no other reason than I didn't like the name).

Weird to think that I've been hanging out here, asking questions, and responding to posts for a quarter century. I was connecting to the internet via 56k modem back in those days reading posts on an old CRT monitor. My, how times have changed. I have spent most of my time discussing semi auto handguns and have benefitted from the collective knowledge of many others over the past 25 years.

Hopefully I'll still be around to comment on my 50th anniversary.

Your join date shows up as January 31, 2000 for me over to the left in your mini-profile. Out of curiosity I looked to see what time you joined, and it was exactly at midnight - 0:00. Dates on the system are also time zone dependent, so that means you joined at 11:00 PM on the 30th.

Ha, wow, I never knew that! Yeah, it shows as a join date of January 30, 2000, for me but the time zone thing makes sense! I guess I was up late that night back in my mid 20's.

My 25th is on April 14.

Well, like you a little earlier as I originally joined with a user name that another member felt was way too close to his.

He reached out and I rejoined under my current name. Later, after I became a staff member, I merged my old account posts into my current account.

Yeah interesting, I never look at time been here . I always look at my post count as milestones. Haaa , and I see I recently passed 7k posts .
