Taurus PT-99 not resetting in SA
I just recently purchased a Taurus PT-99 used and am having trouble with it resetting into SA. Usually about 30% of the time it doesn’t reset and I just wind up shooting it DA instead. Whenever I manually cycle it, it resets every single time. I’ve recently installed an MCARBO spring kit and double checked everything and it’s all in correctly and seemingly functioning properly.

On the right side of the frame, beneath the grip panel, is there a trigger bar spring spring pushing upwards on the trigger bar like the Berettas? It sounds like something is not allowing the trigger bar to go upwards enough during the cycle.

I checked that and it’s installed correctly. So I got to thinking and figured it had to be something with the sear spring, I pulled off the grips and reviewed the installation video and discovered I had installed the spring upside down. I’ll head to the range tomorrow for some testing, but I’m pretty confident this was the problem.
