Corn cob
Zorro Industrial has bulk corn cob media for $34 a 40lb bag. They have 2 grit sizes 14-20 or 20-40 which is better in a vibratory cleaner?

Most "reloading" cob media is 14-20. I use cob blast media rather than pet litter too. How much is shipping from Zorro?

Agree. I buy mine from Graingers. It’s been a while but that price sounds about right.

I got the 20-40 from zoro. Works great , doesn't get stuck in the flash holes. It cost me $5 for shipping. Probably last me 20 years!

20-40 is finer. The first number refers to how many wires per inch are in the screen that lets it all pass and the second number refers to how many wires per inch are in the screen that stops it from passing through.

Raw Buckwheat is far better than either size corncob or walnut shells.

Feed and grain store. That's a good idea. I recall those seeds are sharp-edged. When I had a big vegetable garden at our previous home, I would plant buckwheat as a weed killing crop in an otherwise-fallow section and turn it in. Only takes about 5 weeks per cycle and a year of that reduces the weed population in the soil significantly.

Warning.......The 20-40 you get at Zoro is so cheap that you buy it, and then realize you have a life time supply.
![]() ![]() I've hardly put a dent in mine bought 2 years ago. Does it work well? Well yes, as a matter of fact, it does....and no primer flash holes ever clog.....which is 20-40's best feature. ![]() |
