Best Gun for Home Protection

Hello everyone,

I am Eddie, fairly new here, but I already have a question. I was thinking of getting a gun for home protection. I work long hours and the wife is usually home alone with our two young children. I need something that she can easily use (she's not much of a gun person) if anything happens. Preferably something small and loud, but easy to handle?
