Remington 597

I have this gun in 22LR and I can detail strip it all the way down except for one part. I can't figure out how to get the retaining pin out that holds the firing pin in place. No matter how hard I push it won't budge so I'm thinking there is something else that has to be moved before this pin can be removed.
I do know that the pin can only come out in one direction since one side of the pin is flared.

Please, only reply if you know this model or at least what I am talking about.

Leedesert, I've never had one in the shop but you might try a drift punch and hammer. A lot of pins like that fit very tightly and won't just push out or in. George
