XD45 vs Glock 21: Chamber Support
I really don't have a bone in this battle. I had a Glock 21 and liked it. Never had chamber support issues that I know of.
BUT, in this thread, this post asked me to compare the 2. ![]() Done. You guys battle it out. XD45 is the one on top. I have no trouble using brass from either one to reload. Reliability is the same. To me they are the same, even though the picture shows a big difference. Last edited by Nathan; January 25, 2015 at 10:08 AM. |

45 is a low pressure round. It's somewhat of a moot point for that caliber.

The only problem I see is that aluminum cased ammo may prove problematic in unsupported chambers for the same reason aluminum cased ammo is unsafe in blowback operated weapons.

That's was I, thank you. I'm weighing different options in a polymer double stack 45 pistol. Spending several hours a week in the woods above 9000 feet We encounter various critters from time to time. I'd like to have 12 to 15 rounds of 45 super loaded up. (Been using a .357 686) Those pic's are very helpful. The Xd looks pretty good. I just pulled the bbl from the FNX-45, after dropping a round in the chamber I'd say it has about the same case head support as the XD. (Maybe even a hair more). DPM Offers their 3 spring recoil reducer for the XD & the FNX. I don't have pic's, but the FNX 45 has far better chamber support than the FNP 45. Holds 15 rounds, I might have to Try it.
