Ruger LC9s Pro

Finally, after two revisions, what the LC9 should have been from the start.

I'm impressed, and the best part is that has the same $449 MSRP as the manual safety (amateur? ) model!

I've been seriously considering buying an LC9s and now I'm glad that I haven't done it yet!

The PPS is a quality piece; you shouldn't regret it. Why not get both?

I've been kicking it around all day, and I think you're right. The PPS is in a different size bracket, and I really loved the one I shot.

Man, if they would release a "Pro" Sr9c I'd be first in line.

A pro variant of the entire SR line would be huge. They're pretty darn good guns, especially at the price point. Without the safety gunk they'd own that price bracket.

LC9s mag release

Is the mag release reversible on the LC9s? I'm a left-hander.

Buy a SR AND take out the mag disconnect, it takes 2-3 minutes. And if you dont like the popup loaded chamber you can knock the pin and put in a flat pice that doest pop up or pull the original out and 30 secounds grinding remove the nub and re install. Takes 5 minutes. Easy. Did mine, In the first 20 minutes I bought it.

since they added the striker, the lc9 is a great little gun. I shot one a couple years ago when it was DAO and it was the worst trigger ever. now its crisp and clean shootin. still not my cup of tea, but definitely don't have anything bad to say about it anymore if it fits you

You made the right choice. Personally I like the Shield over either.

Still has the manual safety. "Don't use it." Yeah I know, but Murphy loves to bite me in the butt, I'd rather not take my chances.

With a trigger as light as the LC9s as I'd rather have a manual safety for EDC. It's an easy safety to operate too. .

Thats easy to disengage too. The SR'S Are a screw you to states that require dumb ideas. Its so simple to remove or disengage them.

I'm a lawyer, so I acknowledge that I'm a mite paranoid, but I have zero intention of ever disabling or removing safety features on a firearm. I'll simply buy models that don't have the safety features I don't want, stock.

Good to see Ruger offering the no fuss option to the LC9. I don't mind manual safeties as I've owned the SR9c, but also own Glocks. Its purely a preference and training issue.

1911's have multiple safeties, and no one complains about removing those...

That's different though. Apples to oranges comparison.

You wouldn't take the doors off your car would you? A jeep is different.

I think it's a liability issue.

If you're in a defensive shooting, the prosecutor can claim that you intentionally removing a safety feature proves you're reckless, and a jury that knows nothing about guns might be inclined to believe them.

If you have a ND, well, you're already in trouble, but showing that you altered the gun to remove the LCI is just going to make it worse.

I'd take my G26 any day over that thing. Might be 1/4" thicker...but it's worth it.

Good grief enough

All this business about a manual safety. Just leave it in the off position. It's better to have it and not use it then not have it and need it.
