Hats off to The Bullet Trap in Plano, TX
I stopped in this morning to zero the scope on my 45 Colt Contender. Everything went well and I was out of there fairly quickly.
5 hours later my phone rang. It was the range calling to see which caliber I was shooting. After I told the guy it was Colt he apologized for bothering me. It seems that someone left a couple boxes of 357 in that same lane and they were trying to reunite them with the owner. The range sells ammo but instead of seeing it as an opportunity to sell more they were trying to save one of their customers a bunch of money. Gotta appreciate that. ![]() |

I went into the bullet trap with a friend whom I was visiting in Plano a few years ago. I was renting a Walther P99, but after the counter man had handed me the P99, I happened to ask him to walk me through some basic revolver questions. He very happily produced 3 pistols and took 15 minutes out of his day to explain a bit about J frame versus K frame versus I don't remember what else I asked about. He didn't have to do that. He could have easily just called me a no-nothing doofus and pointed me to my lane, but he didn't.
Nice bunch imo.
