New Varmint Rifle
Went to the LGS and found a nice special on a 17 HMR that I have been wanting for over a year. Every time I found one I liked, I thought they were over priced, Way Way over priced. Anyway, they had a 25% off sale on a rack of new rifles, every single one of them was 17 HMR. I was in heaven I tell ya....
![]() This is my first Marlin and I Frogged her before she was over four hours old. One thing I didn't think of, 17 HMR cleaning kit ![]() Here she is with an inexpensive 4X16X40 from Center Point on it. ![]() ![]() Will be sighted in this week sometime and off to get in some shooting time. Shoot Straight and Be Safe! |

It is always nice to see the gun you want in the discount rack. Looks like you even found some ammo, which might be even more impressive than the gun find. Lol.
Let us know how it shoots. |

In my Neck of the woods, 17HMR is pretty abundant but 22 and 9mm is non-existent.

Love my 17hmr, above most of my othe rifles, from .22 to .243 to 45-70, rate the 17hmr highly, I've got savage laminate thumbhole stainless varmint, with a 3-9x50 redfield, looks brilliant and shoots even better, with 5 shot groups at eighty metres if the hole aren't touching they're sharing the same hole, top little varmint rifle, if the marlin shoots half as good as my savage you'll be happy
