Metering Blue Dot powder

Loading some 9mm rounds on the Lee Classic Turret press. Getting .3 grain variations with the Lee Auto Disk powder measure.
I've had good luck metering Tite Group with this set up.

Blue Dot isn't the most suitable powder for the 9mm Luger, its a little too slow for best performance in that size case. Red Dot is a little better, but being a flake powder, does not meter as well as ball powders.

I don't use Lee reloading tools, other than the hand decapper, so can't help you on their powder measure.

The Lee perfect powder measure will dispense Blue Dot very accurately. Usually, within a tenth of a grain. It dispenses most all powders very well. It is consistently more accurate than either my Lyman 55 or RCBS uniflow. It is my "go to" dispenser for difficult powders like the IMR stick powders and 800X.

9mm

Blue Dot & Unique will dispense about the same. Unique will work better with mid-range loads.

Blue Dot can hang up in an RCBS Uniflow powder measure and make a light load followed by a heavy load. This is a real problem for 223 can get case destroying pressure spikes from the heavy load. The 223 case should not be filled to the top. Not so much of a problem in a normal 9mm barrel, because not much Blue Dot will fit in a 9mm case.

Unique was throwing wide variances till I did the aquarium air pump mod. tape off one hole for more vibration. Would prolly work with blue dot. Might be a challenge adapting to the lee disc setup.
