Armscor m206 question

I recently purchased a used but like new armscor model 206 in 38 special. It functions well but twice when I cocked the hammer for single action, it skipped a cylinder by millimeters it missed the primer and struck it just to the left.

I have been functioning it while unloaded and trying to get it to do it again but after about 30 try's I stopped. Has anyone else had this trouble with their armscor revolvers?

I haven't worked on any Armscor revolvers since the 80s, but, if I recall, the lockwork is somewhat based on Colt D frame lockwork.

Most likely cause of your problem is that the cylinder bolt (cylinder stop) is hanging up on the rebound lever and allowing the cylinder to skip past its correctly indexed position.

Take your grips off and shoot a little high quality lubricant (NOT WD-40) up into the action and see if that helps your situation.

If not, it probably needs a trip either back to the distributor or to your local gunsmith for adjustment.
