The H&K I have been wanting....
I've been wanting a USP in .40 for quite awhile. In another thread and weeks ago, I started a conversation about a used one I had found....barely used to be sure.
I bought it tonight, brought it home, dis-assembled it, took pics, and here they are: Last edited by tristar viper; June 27, 2013 at 08:12 PM. |

Rust??? I have no idea what you're seeing.....there's no rust on this gun. That's the handle of an old screwdriver.....
$650 with 3 mags. |

Pic 1413 and 1415. Must just be a reflection or something. On 1415 it's at the rear of the gun on the frame.
Guess it's just my eyes! Awesome deal! Enjoy! |

Yes that's a reflection. I've got the handle of the screwdriver protruding through the trigger guard far enough that it's reflecting back on the gun because of how the light is.

I remember your last thread. USP .40's seem to sell for less used than 9's or .45's. I passed one up for $400 a couple years ago and still haven't forgiven myself.
In any case, congradulations on your purchase! USP's are great guns! I'll get mine someday... ![]() |

proud new HK owner....
Not to be picky, but the Heckler & Koch name is commonly abbreviated HK not H&K.
HK is what sales reps & marketing material uses. ![]() CF |

Wow, looks like new. I have the exact same gun expect mine has a little more shall we say well loved appearance, but it still shoots very smooth.
I’m not sure if you’re looking for a holster, but I’ve been real happy with the Safariland 6378. The holster has a thumb operated locking mechanism and comes with a paddle and belt mount which can be switched easily via two screws.

Yea Clydefrog...you are being picky
![]() Sometimes I abbreviate HK, sometimes I do H&K. I was just never certain that HK (with no & in between) was really correct. People say it both ways too I have noticed. Yes definitely looking for a holster. Believe it or not when I open up the tension screw on my DeSantis Speed Scabbard that's for my G19, this HK actually fits quite nicely. But a new hoster is still on my list. This gun is an AH build date, which is 2007. They originally told me that the gun had approximately 200 rounds put through, but one guy at the shop said he wasn't sure he believed that, although now that I have taken this thing apart and checked it all out, I tend to believe that it's got very low rounds, I'm sure less than 500 anyway....it has virtually no wear on anything. Very happy with this purchase, VERY happy. Haven't been this excited about a gun for many years, and this is the first used gun I have ever bought. |

I love mine in .40. I put the ambidextrous control lever on it and it's a great lefty gun. I liked it so much I picked up a P2000SK also in .40. I'm looking for some flat magazine base pads now.

I'm very interested in getting a 357 barrel for this gun, and this is what I read:
Heckler & Koch does not authorize caliber conversions, but a separate barrel for a .357 Sig or .40 S&W can be purchased from HK, or from companies like Midway USA or Jarvis, Inc. EFK Fire Dragon,[11] an Arizona based pistol accessories company produces conversion barrels for both Full Size and Compact USP models. These conversion barrels can convert a .40 S&W to .357 Sig, and vice versa. They also manufacture 9mm conversion barrels. These 9mm conversion barrels can convert a 40/357Sig to a 9mm, but not a 9mm to a .40/.357 Sig. Also, a more powerful recoil spring may be needed for a .357 Sig conversion as the .357 Sig operates at a higher PSI. Heckler & Koch currently does not make the Full Size USP in .357 Sig, making the .357 Sig conversion for the Full Size .40 S&W a highly desirable addition. What do some of you know about these places that make barrels? Cost? Are they good quality components? And is a different recoil spring necessary to shoot 357? That paragraph kind of eludes to that, but I was left not really knowing for sure. |

You should ask on the hkpro forum. Those guys are real hk zealots. Somebody over there has done it for sure (or blown up a gun trying if it can't be done).

You weren't kidding, that is almost new!
I would also recommend some extended mag baseplates (depending on how big your fingers are) http://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/-USP-...d-265p2478.htm I really like them on mine. |

Nice looking gun. It can be impossible to tell the usage of a well maintained HK. About the only place my HKs show any wear is the mark on the barrel hood made by the slide while cycling. It is prominent on my USP but faint on my P2000, (both have thousands of rounds).
Here's a pic of my USPc that shows little wear even after thousands of rounds. Great guns, tough steel, good finish and made to last. Love my HKs. ![]() There is a AF dated USP 40, with the standard two mags, for sale on a local gun sale website here with a asking price of $580. Considering the extra mag and the pricing madness of late, your price seems to be fair. Enjoy your new pistol. Last edited by PSP; June 28, 2013 at 11:42 AM. |
