Ruger Security Six
I have one "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty," and I was wondering if I can just buy a 9mm cylinder to use with this gun, or is there something else necessary to be a convertible model?

I believe you will have to have such a cylinder fitted to the weapon by a qualified gunsmith.
I may be wrong but I don't think so. Cool idea anyway. |

No you can not just buy a 9mm cylinder and pop it in. You can probably get a custom 9mm cylinder made..... but it's gonna cost ya.
I think I'd find a Ruger blackhawk 357 with 9mm conversion barrel included. I don't know if they're still made though. |

There is a certain amount of hand fitting that takes place during assembly. I tried installing my 357 SS cylinder into my 38 SS. Even though the dimensions were identical the timing was a little off. Same thing when trying to swap 357 for 357. I get why you were interested though. Those 9mm Sixes are expensive! |

eddiejoe333, i leave your Sec-Six the way it is and try to find one of Police-Sixes in 9mm IIRC, instead.

Thanks for the replies! I was thinking this would be an inexpensive alternative to a new semi-auto. Looks like I'll have to buy another gun.
