A newbyee goof I learned the hard way . . .

So I had some 9mm brass that was dirty with mud. Washed it off with water and dried them on a towel then tossed them in the tumbler with corn cob media. Of course the wet inside of the cases collected and held the media as it swelled with moisture. Lot of work digging out a hundred 9mm cases.

I actually use my tumbler to dry my cases after I ultrasonic clean them. I use walnut media and in 30-min to an hour they're bone dry. Media just falls out super easy. And I put them in there soaking wet.

Hairdryers are cheap and can heat brass up quickly.

I only use corn cobb on finished rounds to remove case lube. All range brass gets tumbled in walnut blasing media. No media clogged in any so far.

Tex, I do the same thing. I shake them from the ultrasonic then right into corncob. Works great!

But I must say op, I've been down your road with around 900-1000 cases of 9mm before. My problem was I put in new media with new polish and didn't give it enough time to mix thoroughly. I'll NEVER make that mistake again. It probably took me over an hour to dig the media out of the cases.

Sometimes the hard ways the only way right!

Well, now you know. I've done similar things.

A long time ago I went cheap and used coarsely ground corncob animal bedding for tumbler media. Had a bunch of it get stuck inside .223 cases. Was no fun to clean out.
