Not enough choices

Lee makes single stage, turret and progressive presses. They are totally different animals. Same for the RCBS Jr, Partner and Rockchucker (single stages) and their turret and progressive.

Brand loyalty is one thing. Loyalty to press type is another and as one person progresses from one press type to another, jumping brands is not uncommon. For example, I moved from a Rockchucker to a pair of Lee Pro-1000s before settling on a Lee Classic Turret.

Unless you are asking something I don't quite get.

In any event, I hope my contribution to your poll helps.

I went with Lee since I use them more often than my RCBS and Dillon put together.

I went with "other" since the press I use depends on what I want to do.

For mass production of handgun ammo I use my Dillon 550b.

For most of my bottleneck rifle loading I use a Lee Classic Cast.

For one-off load development I will use either a Lyman Spar-T or old Lee Challenger.

They all do exactly what I want them to.

I went with RCBS as there are more of those on my bench. "Other" category will fit as there are Hollywood and Texas presses on the bench also.

I have looked at other brands but reports of breaking handles or links breaking or wearing out has kept me away from other makers.

RCBS Rockchuker. My vote is a little bias though, I live where they are made and actually got to meet Fred Huntington

I voted RCBS because I have two of them. My go to press for seating is a Corbin.

I've had an old RCBS Rockchucker now for about 20 plus years but ever since I purchased a Lee Classic Turret about 4 years ago the Rockchucker pretty much collects dust.

This poll should have been set to allow multiple choices. I have 9-presses from 5-companies on my bench.

1-Dillon
1-CH
1-Phelps
2-Dunbars
4-Hollywoods

Most will say Lee because they work and are cheap, makes one wonder if they buy guns based on the same criteria. Many will say Rock Chucker, they believe it is stronger than Lee. Some will say Redding because it cost more so it must be the best.
I say whatever floats your boat, we all are reloaders it doesn’t matter what tools we use.

Depends on what type of shooting you do, and the volume.

I run 300-600 centerfires for 6 different calibers every month. I'd be drooling in the corner if I were to load them with a single stage press. Ditto with high volume for pistol cartridges. I use a Hornady Lock 'N Load progressive press.

If you shoot a more limited number of rounds, and load to the tenth of a grain for accuracy, a single stage or turret is fine.

Most will likely say Lee because the good value for an inexpensive price allowed them to try reloading. Without that manufacturer many would not be able to afford giving it a try. I buy guns based on a similar criteria, yes. I'd like a $1500 1911, but I own S&W M&P pistols because I get excellent value for the money.

Hornady LNL AP

If I were a new reloader, I would buy this:

Lyman T Mag II Expert Kit

The poll is meaningless because it makes two invalid assumptions:
1. You load with only one press; and
2. You load only metallic cartridges.

I'm probably not the only one who has far more shot shell presses than metallic cartridge presses.

Initially I bought a LEE Anniversary kit to see if it's something I would enjoy doing; I did.
That was around the time of my join date and it was/is a pre-breechlock Challenger press.
Still using the same press today because I haven't had the need for anything else. If it works, why fix it?
Also been using a Harbor Freight tumbler just as long.

I use an RCBS turret. I also have a RockChucker.

There is no such thing as a RCBS RockChunker. The press is a RockChucker.

I use a Lee hand press for the easy stuff and a Lee Classic for the tough stuff.

Dillon 550 with Lee sizing and seating dies. It's my first and only press. It's easier to set up with the Lee seating dies. IMO

Zippy is right that many use different presses. Would be better to have like presses type pole. Progressives vs progressives etc.

I was lucky I could vote Lee because I use 4 different Lee presses for different loads. Progressives and classic turrets with one of the turrets used like a single stage.

I've used a Lee single stage for over 30 years and do not plan on changing until it breaks! I like reloading in single stages where I can concentrate on one step at a time. Fewer mistakes on my part. I load for .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, 30-30 Winchester and .223. Soon I will be reloading for my Great Grandfather's .45 Colt Long...
