Beretta Centurion vs Cougar?
I'm looking to buy one of these older models to keep my SIG P229 company. I couldn't find a direct comparison of them, but they seem to be similar. I wanted something slightly smaller than a 92FS.
Can anyone in the know compare these puppies? Thanks. |

I own a Beretta Centurion chambered for the .40S&W and realy like the gun.
It's DA only with no external safety lever...Won it on gunbroker.com for $300.00 It was a Police trade-in that was not abused and in very good condition. |

So the Centurion is DA only? Or just one variation?

The Centurions will come in the same options as the 92's, DAO, DA/SA, or safety acting as decocker only (G model).
They take the same mags as the std 92. Biggest difference is it is about 1/2in shorter, other than that it's the same pistol. The Cougar is a lot different. Rotating barrel, mags not the same as the 92. Soft shooter due to the rotating barrel, it's also a great pistol. Stoeger now makes the Cougar for Beretta and it's a real bargain for a new all metal pistol! |
