Nickel Finish
Considering adding a CZ 75 9mm in satin nickel. Anyone have any experience with the durability of the nickel finish vs stainless? The stainless CZ's are hard to find so I thought I'd go the nickel route.

I've had a number of CZs. The only one I have now is a satin nickel 85 Combat.
The nickel finish is arguably the best of the CZ finishes. It's almost impervious to damage and, unlike some nickel finishes, does not have a copper undercoat, so exposing it to copper solvents won't risk damaging the finish (via microcracks in the finish.) It can be cleaned, when needed, with Flitz (which CZ recommends). The newest polycoat finishes continue to become more and more durable, but the nickel is very durable. (I didn't mention the STAINLESS models, as that isn't a "finish.") |
