Not many readers here.

I notice that consistently both the semi-auto forum and the revolver forum have far more people on them than the General Handgun Forum. I guess most folks are either semi people or revolver people and just stick to looking for threads about what they already are into. I own and like both types of guns, so I look at all three forums.

It's not so much that as much as this:
http://thefiringline.com/forums/anno...t.php?f=1&a=97

Just look at the first page here. Any thread that is solely about a semiauto or solely about a revolver is locked.

The bulk of common handguns are either revolvers or semiautos. And we tend to put questions specific to either in their own forums.

There are some single shot owners out there (I'm one) and there are general questions, that belong in the General Handgun forum.

There are more people in the revolver & semi forums because they are looking for more specifc discussions.

Many ask about a specific gun they have, or are thinking of getting, and that gets moved (or closed) in General, as they should, properly, put it in the specific forum.

I always like to check in on both the general and revolver sections, as I often find something of interest on both. As I'm not a bottom feeder kinda of guy I don't spend any time at the other section.

On a positive note, according to the FBI 1,500,000 firearm background checks were run this month. Apparently this is some sort of record, and 25% of the checks were run on first time buyers.

So my question is. Is this a sign of the economy getting better, perhaps worse,(fear), or a prelude to the up coming election?

I'm guilty of being a semi and revolver section haunt. When I check the forum, I start with the revolver forum, then the semi and lastly the gun show forum.

I like the pictures.

Seriously, I check out all the Hogans Alley forums with the most emphasis on revolvers, then semis because that is where my biggest interest is. I also occassionally check out the rifle, shotgun, and reloading forums. I don't read them all, but do find some interesting reads in all of them. I don't have that many "live" friends that can carry on the type of discussions that I find in these forums. It gives me something to think about and I learn something sometimes. Thanks guys and ladies.
