Would like an opinion

I am looking at a Para Ordinance 7.45 Companion Carry. Looks like a nice gun but I see very little discussion about Para Ordinace or Para (Since they moved to this country).

What do you all think? Is it something worth spending money on or not?

i have a LDA CCW 4" and have never had a problem with it. though it is an older one made in canada i think.

i did raise the question of which is better "before or after the move", but nobody seemed to want to chime in with any information or feelings.

i do have opinions on the operation of the trigger on mine, the transfer bar can pop off of its pivot points if the slide is off BUT!!! the slide also retains it so there is no way i can see that it would pop off with the slide on. just one of those things in my head

and for the record, i've never had an issue with it. shooting 230gr fmj all brands, or 230gr hollow points HST and Ranger T

The Para seems to be a well made gun so I don't understand why it is not more popular. It is nice looking, feels good and shoots as good as I can.

For me, mine is the perfect ccw.

Ironically, having owned four, the one I currently cc the most is the only one out of four that ever gave me trouble. It was bought several years ago when Para was in Canada. Sent it to their warranty repair shop in Tenn. Got it back and it will fire absolutely anything.

Gave one to my son, one to brother. Both several thous. flawless rds down the pipe.
Currently own two.

They are super smooth, dependable and very accurate.

Highly recommend.

If you're buying new, take note of the warning on shooting Wolf ammo and your warranty written in the manual.

Hope you're as happy with your Para as I've been with all mine.

I like my Para.

I think the lack of popularity stems from early quality control issues. They seem to have gotten that figured out years ago, though.

Para used to have poor QC, but then they got settled in thier new NC location. I really can't figure on why Para isn't more popular; their fit/finish is even better than SAs, their triggers are great, accurate barrels and good chamber support in a ramped barrel, and they just look amazing. I have a para P18.9 that has been perfect.

Cast frames I can live with, but cast slides and frames?? No thanks! There are far better options for the $$$, IMO. Hell, even the fillipinos arent casting their slides for their 1911's.
