Cleaning / Lubricating Desert Eagel .50AE
Hi all,
What do you guys recommend to use on my DE to clean and lubricate. I understand that the gun needs to be oiled after being cleaned from time to time. My DE is in brushed chrome finish. Thanks, maguirre |

I always just used Hoppes for cleaning the barrel, then CLP for other cleaning and lubrication. My DE in .357 Magnum worked perfectly every time as a result...

I find Eezox and Royal Purple work well as lubes and both seem to keep my gun cleaner longer. Hoppes will clean anything.

Weapons Shield. Whatever you use, run your DE wet...and then clean it well afterwards. Reliability of the DE often depends on you doing these things.

My 2 bits...
This topic pops up often on firearm forums.
![]() In short, I'd read over the Desert Eagle/Kahr owner's manual. I like using a high quality CLP(clean lube protect) product like Gunzilla, Eezox, Weaponshield, or Mpro7/LPX. The German cleaner/gun oil Ballistol is very useful too. A bore cleaning agent like good ole Hoppes #9, Sweets, Butch's Bore Solvent, 7.62 is good for barrels. See www.Brownells.com www.Eezox.com www.Gunzilla.us www.mpro7.com www.Midway-USA.com . Birchwood-Casey's excellent Synthetic Gun Cleaner may help also. ClydeFrog |
