old fixer upper
So, I have a M2 .30 Carbine in good working condition, minus the walnut stock. It was made by a blind man in the 70’s, if I am not mistaken. The stock is cracked and starting to fall off. This is my favorite rifle I have ever owned so, I’m wondering should I do one of two things to it. A) Get a new wood stock put on it maybe, a little engraving done to it. B) Get an EBR like chassis for a drop in model. Thank you for your time.

I hope that was a typo, and you meant "M1."
The M2 is an automatic and should have been registered with the Feds prior to 1968. |

You are right
Its not an m2 and thank you for telling me such. From what i could read about the rifle on wikipedia (not the best source of information but my assests are limited) is that it is a M1a2 Proposed variant with improved sight adjustable for windage and elevation
Produced only as 'overstamped' model (an arsenal-refurbished M1 with new rear sight and other late M1 improvements) again regardless of the above misinformation what should I do with it. |

I'd look for an original style stock and put it together to return it to the way it came. Folks that like M1 carbines don't like them as much because of their capabilities, they like them because of their history.

You can buy a new or used stock from Numrich, as well as just about any other part ever put on an M1 Carbine.
