Adjusting scope
I have a Leupold Mark II 3-9 x 40mm scope attached to my AR-15.
Adjusting the scope took some major tweaking but did finally get items on target. However I had to adjust the scope almost as far left as it would go, Certainly I felt the tension on the adjustment increase significantly and then backed off just a bit, which worked out the the "correct" setting. It just doesn't seem right that it would have to be tweaked so far just for a centering shot @ 50yds. There is certainly no room left if I wanted any wind adjustment. I've never been through this process before, what could I have messed up so bad to have it out of alignment so? I did remove and re attach the site several times to see if I had something out of whack, but not even sure how I would manage that if I wanted to, without jamming something in there. Any ideas someone can set me straight? |

My first guess would be that the rings are culprit. Also, are you sure your scope is level? You could try reversing the rings to see if it doesn't alleviate the problem. If not, perhaps exchange them. Alternatively, you could have them lapped. If none of that works, hopefully your scope is still under warranty.

I had the same problem when I put a Nikon on my flat-top except it was way off in both the windage and elevation. I installed a set of Burris Signature Zee rings and used the optional offset inserts to correct both problems.
But I would try what has already been suggested before buying new rings of any kind. Dallas Jack |
