Hammer falling to half cock

I have a Kimber Pro-Carry that I bought used 9,000 rounds ago. At 1,700 rounds, I experienced a fail to fire resulting from the hammer falling to half cock. It was determined that the sear pin was bent. It was replaced and the problem stopped.

Now at 9,000 rounds, while practicing mag changes with dummy rounds, I am experiencing the hammer falling to half cock when the slide is released (some of the time) manualy, not by slide stop. It only does this whith the dummy rounds and not when firing live ammo.

I again checked and replaced the sear pin. The sear, disconnect and sear spring, show no uneven wear or cracking etc.

What is the problem

Have you checked the bottom notch on the hammer? It could have gotten chipped or the angle changed when it was fired with the bent sear pin...all I can think of at the moment.

The hammer doesn't appear to have any damage/wear.

I think the problem is solved. I tweaked the sear spring and it appears to have solved the problem. The spring wasn't tight enough (too straight) to keep pressure on the sear.
