Old powder question?????

Afternoon reloaders,

A friend has about 10lbs of ball powder which, although old has been well stored.

It looks good, smells good etc.

However, we are having trouble finding info.

The powder was used for shotgun and/or handgun loading.

The powder is WW450 LS.

I can find info in my older books as per Olin 452, but nothing on this other WW powder.

Be a shame to turn 10lbs of good powder into lawn food.

Info is welcome.

Keep em coming!

I believe that Winchester discontinued WW450 LS back in the mid 1970's. Remember using it in some shotgun loads. There was also a WW 450 MS powder that was offered at the same time. Also remember that the powders weren't made by Winchester but by someone else overseas for Winchester.

I have posted this info at 5 different sites, and it looks like we will get some good info before it runs down.

Keep em coming!

Since Hodgdon is the distributor for Winchester powders,

E-mail:
[email protected]

or phone:
7:00am to 5:30pm Central Monday-Thursday : 913-362-9455

They do not like e-mails, for legal reasons, the written word can come back to bite. I think you will have better luck calling.

I think that may be what 452AA or 453AA replaced? I'm checking another source.
