Berry's .380 Cal 100g RNFB Bullets in 9mm?
I have an abundance of Berry's .380 Cal 100g RNFB bullets (.356 Diam) that I am considering for 9mm target loads. This would be for a Springfield XD9 with 4 in barrel. I have several reloading manuals that list 100g bullet loadings for 9mm. Am leaning toward HP-38 , or possibly Bullseye, powder. Has anyone had any experience with 9mm with this light a bullet (or is this just a bad idea)?

Berry's .380 100gr are .355 not .356
I tried it with some Unique behind the pill. It worked but accuracy was nothing to write home about. |

How much is an abundance? Do you need to sell some of them?
I use this bullet (in .380, sorry no help for 9mm...) and if you want to get some money out of them, I may be interested. I find that they work VERY well in .380.

For Sevens: I have a box of Berry's .380's (250 count) that I could stand to get rid of. I could really use some empty .380 shells if you had any you could do without. Maybe we could work out a trade.

Thanks fishhead, but I thought we were talking about a b-i-g load!
![]() I buy 'em direct from Berry's a thousand at a time. And being that I load them in to .380 brass... I can't trade any of the brass! ![]() Are these bullets not working well for you at the load bench or in your particular .380 pistols? I run these through a Bersa Thunder and a Walther PK-380 and they just don't ever stop. I load 'em to 0.975" COAL pushed by 4.4gr of Alliant Power Pistol. I'm very happy with the Berry's slugs in .380.

Light bullets in 9mm
I have tried bullets as light as 88, 95 and 102 grains in my 9mm Glock 19. The problem with these light bullets is having sufficient charge to operate the slide, since my Glock has an aftermarket Fire Dragon double spring. The accuracy is not what you would want for competition, but acceptable for what I do. I have had excellent results with the VihtaVuori powders, not only for light bullets but with bullets as heavy as 147 grains.

i asked this same question a little while back. i think mine are barnes bullets though, but they are 100 gr lead. i tried it. i thought they worked good. and the accuracy wasn't bad at all. i think i used 4.5 gr of unique. but i will have to check my log to make sure. i shot them out of a Arcus 98 and Kareen mk3, basically about the same gun, both hi power look alikes. i also shot one mag full out of an old astra model 600. no problems. i will check my log and get back to you.
