Bersa 380 thunder Jam issue

Hey I had recently purchased one of these for my wife for a conseal carry weapon. We took the gun to the range and every fifth shot in the 7 round mag it would jam. Has anyone had this problem? Is it common? Could it be the the ammo I purchased ( DSM Orange box reloads). Any info will help.

Thanks

What was the nature of the jam?

Nosedive.
Nose up?
failure to chamber?

Bersa's are remarkeably reliable guns.

Was it cleaned well before shooting?

Did you fire it or only her? If both - did one have more jams than the other?

What was the nature of the "jam"? Next round failing to Feed? Partial spent case extraction? Being more specific would help.

What kind of bullet specfically? FMJ? JHP?

I would suggest cleaning the heck out of it, trying at least two other ammo types and shoot from a pistol rest for plenty of support which would minimize recoil...if you get jams still - it is the pistol probably...

DSM reloads? Never heard of it and can't find it online...

Shoot quality ammo out of a new pistol to see how it really performs...

It could be the reloads Many Bersa not happy with them Bersa are known for reliability I would suggest a real goon cleaning to include taking down the mag The gunk they ship them in gets every where. Then shoot some ball ammo not a reload. If still a problem go here and ask the warranty smith

Kind of odd that it's always the same round in the magazine that jams. Do you have another magazine that you could try?

The bullet jams nose up and failure to chamber. I just thought it was strange that is was always on the 5th round.

Thank-you everyones feedback I will try all suggestions
