S&W 41 vs Sig P226 classic 22LR

I have a S&W model 41 and a Sig P226 9MM. I'm considering selling the S&W 41 and purchasing the Sig P226 classic 22LR primarily because it's on the same frame as the 9MM. The only difference is the 9MM is a bit heavier than the 22LR which maks sense. Being able to go from the 22LR to the 9MM on the same frame is very appealing.

I understand the Sig 22LR is very accurate and high quality but I haven't shot one. My dilemma is the S&W 41 is really sweet and arguably the best 22LR made in it's price range.

Does anyone out there have a Sig P226 Classic 22LR that can comment?

The Sig P226 Classic 22 is $608.00 according to Sig's website. I don't have one but thats a pretty penny for a .22lr

I can't say I'd sell the 41 to buy the 226, I regret the only time I ever sold one gun to buy another. I know you want opinions on the 226 .22, but I figure I would rather warn you not to make the mistake of selling a gun to buy another. Especially when it sounds like you are truely happy with the greatness of the gun you already have.

Lot to pay for a .22 pistol unless it is guaranteed target grade or a collectable. Despite the features it shares with your current pistol. If you ever upgrade from the Sig 9, I hope the Sig .22 has what it takes to stand on it's own besides being an understudy to another pistol. Otherwise you might regret selling the Smith, then.

Why not just get the .22 conversion for your p226 and spend half the money?
