Painted Sights on PF-9
Well I decided to paint my sights today. I was getting tired of the plain white and they are also hard to see at the indoor range and when it is dusk/dawn. So I went into Gander Mountain and picked up the paint. It is Lure and Jig Vinyl Paint. I believe I paid $3.99 per 1 oz jar(1oz is a ton of paint and will last my entire lifetime if used just for sights, but I like to fish as well).
1.Cleaning the sights. I used 91% rubbing alcohol and a new cheap toothbrush(use at least 90% so you do not leave a residue after cleaning) 2. Painting the sights. First I did a base coat of white, then followed it up with 2 coats of color. Colors are Blaze Orange and Yellow Chartreuse Method: Using a blunt end of a toothpick(or cut and filed smooth toothpick if both ends are pointed), dip it in the paint and touch it to the sights. It was my first time, so take it easy on me... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

So far I love it. I only hve about 300 rounds through it though I have not had any problems with it. That includes though 100 rounds of 147gr HP's with no issues as well. I am spoiled by the thickness and it is hard for me to carry the Sigma now.

I had a PF-9 that I loved and used as a carry piece for about a year. It performed flawlessly with over 2,000 rounds through it. I recently traded it for an XD9SC. Why? I wanted something with a little more capacity, slightly larger, and a lighter trigger. The XD fit my needs. Nothing wrong with the PF-9, just not my "exact fit", ya know. |

I bought a PF9 last month, I love this gun
the gun shoots alittle hard because gun is so light but because it's so light/thin, it is easy to conceal |

![]() I carry my PF-9 in a couple of different ways, depending on my mood and what I'm wearing. DeSantis pocket holster, PF-9 mounted spring-clip, or a Kholster at 4 o'clock or SOB. |

Nice Job ! That chartreuse really stands out on the front sight, and is the color I used on my LCP when I colored its sights.
http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/...d.php?t=355573 I used colored epoxy instead of paint, but the finished product looks very similar. |
