FPS loss from 16 inch 45-70? Co-pilot?

Hey,

I see those neat 16 inch 45-70s around. I recently cut mine down but don't have a chrono. Anybody ever chronoed one?

I don't have a 16" 45/70 but do have the 18 1/2" guide gun and my handload (44 grs IMR 4198, Hornady 350 FN, Starliune brass, and CCI 200 primer)will do 1800 fps over my chrony. I would hazard a quess that this load would do about 1700 -1750 fps out of a 16" barrel.
