TC Omega & Z5 Omega

Looking for an explanation of the differences between the standard TC Omega and the Z5 Omega. Is it just different stock/barrel combinations, or are there other internal differences in the firing mechanisms?

Thanks

Here is what I am seeing:
The Z5 comes with Blued barrel and what they call their "Weathershield" option for extreme weather conditions. In 2007 you only had a choice of blued barrel and the Weathershield option was not available til 2008.
The Omega M/L model comes with a S.S. barrel as standard. These get into the fancier options on stocks. I have looked at both but only shot the Z5 and am fairly sure that the action is identical. The Z5, is the least expensive of the two. Then you get into a Triumph and to me, it's just another expanded version of the Z5.

Hope this answers your question and make it clear as mud ....

Be Safe !!!

Thank you for the reply. I hadn't found anything to suggest the actions were different.

Have you heard of any problems with the Wethershield coating versus the stainless barrels?

My local Walmart had several of the Z5's the last time I was in there. Last price was something like $279. When muzzleloader season ends, I bet they clear out the remaining ones for less than $200.

Dick's Sporting Goods currently has a Z5 Omega with Weathershield barrel and camo thumbhole stock on sale for $400 plus the $50 rebate T/C is running.

I can't find any other offering of this stock and barrel combination being sold under the Z5 labeling.

Seems like a pretty good deal if the action is identical to the standard Omega.

One fellow on another forum reported that some rust spots appeared under the Weathershield finish within a short time after shooting his new rifle. So he sent it back to TC and they sent him a replacement, along with some bullets and a hat with a TC logo.
He's the only one who reported having that problem that I know of.
