Handloads for DPMS Barrel

i just got a new 16 inch Dmps upper with the bull barrel in 223. Does anyone have any handload recipes for this barrel? any general suggestions on where to start? thanks for all input

Not being a smartass, but I'd start with a reloading manual...you never know if the load someone gives you will exceede the industry maximum by a few grains.....

What is the barrel twist rate and what type of loads are you looking for ?

I never even understood threads like this. There's no universal good "load" for a particular barrel! Just start with published data and work your loads up. I'm using AA2200 powder for .223 reloading, just because I bought a bunch of that powder cheaply a few years ago. Most accurate groups I've shot, to date, with my Bushy Shorty, were with Berger bullets and H335 powder.

I WOULD suggest loading the rounds to the longest o.a.l. that'll fit in a G.I. mag...that's about 2.260", for me.
