What shotgun should I get?

I've been searching for a good semi-auto shotgun. I was wondering if anyones had any experience with the Mossberg 935 autoloader.

For the same price i would buy a used 1100/1187 or Browning A-5. IMHO they are far superior weapons. I have an A-5 made in the 50's and it is still going like the day it was bought by my father. My grandfather has a pre war A-5 and it to is still going strong.

If you want to buy new i think that would be a fine buy, but look at other companies cheaper models as well

Unless you HAVE TO have the 3-1/2" capacity, I would suggest the Mossberg 930. Even though they are similar guns, the 930 will handle a larger variety of shells. The 935 will limit you to 3 & 3-1/2" shells (some folks have had luck getting their 935's to handle "high brass" 2-3/4" shells but target loads are out)

I have heard many good things about the Mossberg 930 on a number of boards, although I have no personal experience. Smitty in Ct is right. I think most folks go for the 3 1/2" guns just so they will have the capacity "just in case". However, the 3 1/2" guns have difficulty cycling light loads. If you are not doing heavy duty waterfowling, you really don't need the 3 1/2". Lots of waterfowl have been taken with 2 3/4" guns, and should be no problem with a 3" and the right ammo.

I agree with the YukonKid. Add a EAA Baikal 12 ga. (89mm) to the list. You can run 2 3/4 in., 3 in., and 3 1/2 in. through it. Its also steel shot rated. Very good range. A good all purpose shot gun.
