Serial Number Check: S&W 19
I saw a nice S&W 19, $325 list, Serial # 7K92179. Wood grips were laquered, finger indentations, and wood was stained (or natural) vertical "striping"-type pattern. Had the S&W Logo but do not know if original.
Any info as to year and what the model was (e.g., 19-3 or whatever) Thanks |

The 7K prefix was used in 1974 and 1975 , but! the Standard Catalog of S&W, 3rd Edition only shows the serial number going up to 7K70577? You can tell which dash number it is by opening the crane and looking on the yoke. It will show 19-1, 19-3 etc: etc:. 1974-1975 It should be a Model 19-3.
