Need help with rifle identity

I could use a little help in determining the maker of a rifle that I inherited. The only names or anything on the rifle are the serial #, .308 win, and the word Forrest.
It is a bolt action rifle similar in apperance to a Remington 700. It is top loaded, with no magazine.
I have looked all over it but can't find any other markings. It was purchased used in aprox. 1979
Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe it's a Remington model 700 ADL. They had a blind magazine

If you cannot post pictures, can you describe the receiver and bolt for us?
Round bottom receiver? flat bottom?
Separate recoil lug?
lug machined integral to the receiver?
Trigger mounted safety?
Bolt shroud mounted safety?
Spring loaded ejector on the bolt face?
ejector fixed to the receiver?
Claw extractor?
spring clip extractor in a machined recess by the boly face?
