Oppose gun control? Alabama says you're a terrorist

http://www.homelandsecurity.alabama....i-gov_grps.htm
If opposing big government, and gun control, and respect of this flag

make me a terrorist, then I wear the title with pride.

Kinda like how our founders attacked their governing institutions.

I just called the Governor's office. I suggest everyone does the same.

The link you provided is bad

but of course we all knew it was only a matter of time before the "terrorists" were anyone that the government doesn't like particularly well. And so the "war on terror" becomes the "war on citizens who speak their minds and/or act a little off".

Previously, it was only the Southern Poverty Law Center that branded anti-government groups as "hate" groups or "terrorist" groups - now the government agrees with those whackos???

It really is amazing. I keep getting this continuous loop of McCarthy and his list of card carrying communists in my head. Anyone else?

The U.S.A. was founded on the principles of overthrowing a government the "people" were sick of.

Today if that thought enters your mind, you are automatically a terrorist.

Hold on. There is a knock at my door.

McCarthy was largely proven to have been correct, by the Venona Papers, which became available in Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union. In other words, that's not a very good analogy.

Though the list was a shopping list or somesuch. The claiming of something like that, the whipping up of hysteria against a certain group with little to go on, whether or not the group is deserving of it, is what the analogy is referring to

No, it's quite an apt analogy, because the point is,

IT DOESN'T MATTER one bit whether they were communists - that was their right under, ya know, the 1st amendment.

Just like IT DOESN'T MATTER whether someone is anti-big-government, and/or anti-gun-laws. It does NOT follow that they are thus "hate groups" nor "terrorists", domestic or otherwise. Ya know, under the 1st & 2nd amendments.

IOW, one's got nothing to do with the other.

From the Purdue link:

In fact, we fought a civil war over the issue of individual and states versus federal rights.
Shouldn't that have been:

the information posted is right up there with the FBI joint terrorism brochure that was released years ago and scrapped.

Virgina just put through a regional transportation taxation program. This program can raise taxes at will. We the people of VA didn't approve it, nor were we given a referendum to seek public approval. Taxation without representation is what it is. We fought the Revolutionary War over this very reason. America and the States that make her are going down to a class of politicians that believe that we are nothing more than subjects to their crown. If the Founders were alive today they would be called "terrorists". Time to wake up.
